CURBSIDE ACUPUNCTURE
10/30/20 will be the last Curbside Acupuncture clinic until 2021. Keep checking back for updates about community events.
Curbside Acupuncture in Arcata
Beginning Thursday, August 20th, 2020, Stacey Small L.Ac. of Acupuncture in Arcata will be offering a weekly Curbside Acupuncture clinic at the Bayside Community Hall. Curbside Acupuncture is a community service project born out of the new and uncertain times we are living through. It is an opportunity for community members to receive safe and affordable holistic health support from the safety and comfort of their own vehicle.
Curbside Acupuncture is a minimal contact, drive-up or drive-in service specifically for those experiencing high levels of stress, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, feelings of fear, grief, worry, and those seeking a better sense of well-being during this time of crisis.
Five sterile acupuncture needles will be placed in participants’ ears and retained for 30 minutes. Stacey will be using a 5 point ear acupuncture protocol known as NADA, which stands for the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, the organization that trains practitioners in the use of the protocol. The protocol was originally used for addiction to help reduce cravings for alcohol and drugs, including nicotine and to minimize withdrawal symptoms, but it has also been proven to calm the nervous system, aid sleep, reduce agitation, give relief from stress and emotional trauma, and help in the development of one’s inner quiet and strength (acudetox.com).
Acupuncture in Arcata will also be providing a Curbside Acupuncture Car Kit, which includes Chinese Herbal tea, aromatherapy and a link to a relaxing music playlist to enhance the experience. Participants will stay in their vehicle for the duration of the session and will only be in brief contact with the acupuncturist and her assistant.
Curbside Acupuncture will be offered every Thursday from 3pm-6pm. Participants must arrive by 5:30pm to receive care. The Bayside Community Hall is located at 2297 Jacoby Creek Rd off of Old Arcata Road. The Curbside Clinic is being offered by donation. Suggested donation is $20 per person. More than one person may be treated per car. So bring a friend or family member and bring greater peace to your life and someone you love.
